The Queensland Branch of the Australian Institute of Physics was pleased to support the Women in Science, Math and Physics event hosted by the School of Mathematics and Physics at The University of Queensland on Thursday 9 April.
The event featured presentations from three researchers working across a broad range of fields. Josephine Dias, Odile Smits and Agnese Barbensi each shared insights into their work, spanning topics from atomic physics to protein folding. Beyond their research, the speakers offered candid reflections on navigating academic careers in science, providing attendees with perspectives that are rarely found in a lecture theatre.
The Queensland Branch thanks the School of Mathematics and Physics at UQ for hosting the event, and extends its appreciation to the speakers and all who attended.
Events like this are an important part of the Branch's commitment to fostering an inclusive and connected physics community in Queensland.
